Words Are wings is a mostly instrumental E.P inspired by symbols of journeying, daydreams and freedom during quarantine.

The title, which comes from a misheard lyric ('bird's wings'), felt like a fitting name for an EP without many words at a time when images of a bird in a cage, clipped wings and a captive bird singing have taken on new meaning.

Most of the piano compositions were written with my students in mind, and most can be played as trios or duets.

Allowing my imagination to take flight with this project has been both a light-hearted escape and a source of refuge for me over the past few weeks.

My hope is that there will be something similar here for you too...
